What the “Appearance Date” Listed on a Ticket Really Means

What the “Appearance Date” Listed on a Ticket Really Means –blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Did you know that although the date on the bottom of your ticket says “appearance date” it doesn’t mean that you actually have to physically “appear” in court that day. It is not a court date, rater it is just your deadline for taking care of your ticket whether it means paying it, asking for an extension, setting up a court trial to contest it, or requesting for a Trial by Written Declaration, etc.

Most traffic tickets (such as failure to stop for a red light, failure to stop for a stop sign, exceeding the speed limit, carpool  lane violation tickets, etc.) do not actually require that you make a physical appearance in court at all, which allows you to handle the ticket by mail, online, or over the phone. And for tickets that do require an actual physical appearance in court (such as tickets for driving over 100 mph) you will be notified by the court.  –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
