Twist on Typical Traffic Stop

Twist on Typical Traffic Stopblog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

In a twist on the typical traffic stop, a DeLand police officer told a driver it was his “lucky day” and offered him a warning rather than a citation. But the driver demanded the traffic fine. The driver, Lambert, said the police officer accused him of “impolitely” honking his horn. In this case, Lambert said he did what he usually does when it’s another driver not paying attention to the traffic light. Lambert counted to five and then honked his horn. The driver’s ticket was ultimately dismissed when the officer (although subpoenaed by the driver) refused to show up in court. In California, “unnecessary use of a horn” is prohibited and punishable by a fine ($200 – $300) although the DMV does not assign a “point”. – blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
