Ignoring a Traffic Ticket Lands a Women in Jail

Ignoring a Traffic Ticket Lands a Women in Jail- blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

If you receive a speeding, red light, stop sign, cell phone, or other ticket, do not ignore or forget it. There is an appearance date on your ticket and you are required to respond to the court on or before that date or a failure to appear can be issued and you can be issued a warrant.

A Colorado Woman spent 4 nights in jail after failing to respond to court dates relating to unpaid traffic fines: “The bench warrant went out the following July, but Wiedemer avoided arrest until June 6 of this year. She says she was driving to a job interview and a cop noticed her expired plates and pulled her over. If it hadn’t been for the bench warrant, she would have received a summons for driving with a suspended license and without insurance or legit tags. Instead, she spent the rest of the week in jail.” (huffigntonpost.com)

If you choose not to contest your ticket and you can’t afford to pay your ticket, you still must respond to the court by your due date. You can see a judge regarding community service, a fine waiver or reduction, or about an extension until you can afford it.  –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
