Back to school time is all about what the kids are wearing. What seatbelt they are wearing, that is. Are your kids buckled in right for their age (or height)? Under 8:

  • Under 8 (or shorter than 4 foot 9 inches) must be seated in a booster seat, with a lap and shoulder belt.
  • Over 8 At least 8 years old (or at least 4 foot 9 inches in height) can ride with just a seatbelt, as long as it can cross their lap and shoulder comfortably.
