Why LAPD is writing less speeding tickets

Why LAPD is writing less speeding tickets. –  blog submitted by TicketBust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

California traffic law requires local roads to have periodic speed surveys to make sure speed limits aren’t set too low. If the surveys aren’t done or the speed limit is too low, then fancy speed guns can’t be used.  Why is this a problem for LAPD? As LAPD officer Troy Williams recently explained to Los Angeles City Council Transportation Committee, most streets in LA have expired speed surveys. LAPD’s use of speed guns has been curtailed by this and according to Williams, the number of speeding tickets has gone down from 99,000 speeding tickets in 2010 to just 16,000 in 2015. –  blog submitted by TicketBust.com, helping drivers fight their traffic tickets.
